Finally.
Thank you to everyone who has stayed tuned as I have asked for advice, input and opinions on my ever-slowly-developing travel writing blog. I appreciate your months of questions about when it will be launched, your comments and your concerns, followed by additional months of questions about when it will be launched.
Thank you also to Satish Gandham, who designed Swift Themes, a theme I am increasingly digging more each time I look at it and work with it. Once I downloaded it, I quickly realized one must know code before one can tinker with a theme, at least to the extent I wanted to tinker. I don’t do code. So I reached through the internet and grabbed Satish, who happily traveled through my computer screen to customize his theme for what I plan to be a great travel blog. We collaborated on the appearance, and I ended up with a look and feel that I am just loving. We had our highs and lows during the many weeks that he we slaved. I took him through so many time-consuming color changes that he literally, at one point, quit. I handed him an additional wad of money, and he returned. Woot.
I’ll focus this blog on travel, of course – primarily my solo travel in the present day, with highlights from the past popping up from time to time, solo travel stories I’ve never told anyone except my boyfriend. He finds some of them raucously funny, so we’ll see if I can imitate in print the apparent hilarity of my spoken words. I’ll also be writing about destinations near to me geographically and those near to my heart. Some of my initial posts I wrote months ago, but I’ve decided to keep them worded as is, to capture the moment in time as it existed then.
So welcome to Solo Female Traveler.
